Meet the crew

Three people run MAVERICK: the captain, the chef and an upbeat stew/deckhand. We’re your hosts for the week and your guides around the islands, and the idea is that you never have to think about how the boat runs. We’re good at what we do and we care about the people aboard. We also like to keep things relaxed and have some fun.

    Tyrone LaRue

    Tyrone has spent more than ten years at sea. As captain he handles the sailing and the route, and what he cares about most is a week that runs safely and smoothly. He’s got plenty of energy and an easygoing manner, and it tends to rub off on everyone aboard.

    Chef Cris has been cooking for two decades and writes each menu around the group aboard. She favors bold flavors and never cuts corners on technique. Whatever your diet or allergens, she’ll plan every meal with care so you can relax and enjoy it.

    Summer Gill

    Summer joined us from Tortola, where she was first mate on a day-charter catamaran, after working as a stewardess on motor yachts in Florida. She brings boundless energy and a big smile to every day on the water.
