A multi-generational family on a sailing yacht has different needs than a couple. Catamarans solve most of them:

• Stability: catamarans don't heel under sail. Toddlers, grandparents, and anyone who gets seasick can move around comfortably while the yacht is making passages.
• Space: at 70 feet of length and 36 feet of beam, MAVERICK has the deck and interior space of a monohull twice her length. Kids can have their own zone, parents can have theirs, and grandparents can have a quiet corner.
• Cabin separation: the 4 ensuite cabins on MAVERICK are split between the two hulls, so generations have actual privacy. The 3 king suites work for couples; the twin cabin (2 singles plus pullman) handles up to 3 kids.
• Water entry: catamarans have low swim platforms aft, ideal for getting kids in and out of the water all day without anyone wrestling a swim ladder.

What kids actually do on a charter aboard MAVERICK

The water-toy program is built for families:

• Two Seabobs — battery-powered underwater scooters that teenagers and adults love. Easy enough for first-timers, fast enough for experienced swimmers.
• eFoil — electric hydrofoil board. Older teens (with a learning curve) end up obsessed.
• Paddleboards and kayaks — all-day exploration around any anchorage
• Full snorkel gear — sized for kids and adults, plus dive gear for certified divers
• Snuba and dive arrangements — through local BVI dive operators by request

Younger kids (5-10) tend to live in the saloon and on the trampolines between hulls when the boat is at anchor. Older kids are usually in the water from breakfast to sunset.
